1. Introduction

Profitz (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is an analytics and profit insight application designed for e-commerce entrepreneurs, with a primary focus on Shopify store owners and dropshippers. Profitz provides insights into product-level and store-level profitability by combining data from connected platforms such as Shopify, Meta Ads and Google Ads.

We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use Profitz.

3. What data do we collect?

We only collect data that is necessary to provide the core functionality of Profitz.

3.1 Account & contact data

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Login credentials (encrypted and secured by Clerk)
  • Account settings

3.2 Shopify data (via API connection)

When you connect your Shopify account, we may access:

  • Orders
  • Revenue
  • Product information
  • Product variants
  • Quantity sold
  • Timestamps

We do not access customer names, addresses, or payment details unless strictly required and permitted by Shopify’s API.

3.3 Meta Ads data (via API connection)

When you connect your Meta Ads account, we may access:

  • Ad accounts
  • Campaigns, ad sets, and ads
  • Ad spend
  • Performance metrics (impressions, clicks, conversions)

3.4 Google user data (via Google Ads API)

When you connect your Google Ads account, Profitz requests read-only access through Google OAuth.

3.4.1 Data we access

  • Google Ads customer (account) IDs and account names
  • Campaigns, ad groups and ads (names, IDs and status)
  • Ad spend, impressions, clicks, conversions and conversion value
  • The email address of the connected Google account, used only to show which account is connected

We do not access any other Google data (such as Gmail, Google Drive or Contacts).

3.4.2 How we use Google user data

We use this data solely to provide and improve user-facing features within Profitz:

  • Calculating product-level and store-level profit by combining ad spend with Shopify order data
  • Attributing ad spend and performance to products
  • Displaying analytics dashboards to you

We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, we do not use it to build user profiles for third parties, and we do not use it to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.

3.4.3 Sharing and transfer

We do not share Google user data with third parties, except:

  • Infrastructure providers that host and process data on our behalf, under data processing agreements, solely to operate Profitz
  • When required by law, to protect the security of our service, or as part of a merger or acquisition, with prior notice to you

Google user data is never shared with Meta, Shopify or any advertising network.

3.4.4 Protection

  • OAuth access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest
  • All data is transferred over TLS/HTTPS
  • Access is limited to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis
  • Data is stored on servers within the EU

3.4.5 Retention and deletion

  • Google Ads data is kept while your Google Ads account is connected to Profitz
  • When you disconnect Google Ads in Profitz, we revoke our tokens and delete the related Google user data within 30 days
  • When you delete your Profitz account, all Google user data is deleted within 30 days
  • You can revoke Profitz's access at any time via myaccount.google.com/permissions
  • You can request deletion at any time via support@profitz.app

3.4.6 Limited Use

Profitz's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3.5 Financial & expense data

  • Manually entered expenses (e.g. team costs, software tools, subscriptions)
  • Store-level cost data used for profit calculations

3.6 Technical data

  • IP address
  • Browser type
  • Device information
  • Log files
  • Usage data within the app

4. How do we use your data?

We use your data exclusively to:

  • Calculate product-level and store-level profit
  • Show analytics dashboards and insights
  • Enable product ↔ advertisement attribution
  • Maintain and improve app functionality
  • Provide customer support
  • Ensure security and prevent abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your data.

5. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

We process personal data based on:

  • Contractual necessity – to provide Profitz as a service
  • Consent – when you connect third-party integrations
  • Legitimate interest – to improve and secure the platform
  • Legal obligation – where required by law

6. Third-party services

Profitz integrates with third-party platforms:

  • Shopify
  • Meta (Facebook & Instagram Ads)
  • Google (Google Ads)
  • Hosting providers
  • Analytics and logging tools
  • Payment processors (if applicable)

These parties only receive data strictly necessary for their function and are contractually bound to comply with GDPR or equivalent regulations.

7. Data storage & security

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encrypted data storage
  • Secure API connections
  • Role-based access controls
  • Regular security updates and monitoring

Data is stored on secure servers located within the EU or in GDPR-compliant regions.

8. How long do we keep your data?

We retain your data:

  • As long as your account is active
  • As necessary to provide the service
  • As required by legal or accounting obligations

When you delete your account, your data will be permanently deleted or anonymized within a reasonable timeframe, unless retention is legally required.
